If you’re applying for a temporary entry class visa for New Zealand and plan to stay for more than 12 months, you will usually need to complete a General Medical Examination and Chest X-ray Certificate. This requirement applies unless you’re applying for a military, diplomatic, consular, official, or Antarctic Treaty-related visa.
Where do I go to get my immigration medical examination?
If you’re in a country where Immigration New Zealand has approved panel physicians, you must use one of these listed medical centres. You can check the official INZ website to find a panel physician near you: www.immigration.govt.nz/healthinfo
If you’re in a country without any panel physicians, a registered medical practitioner (ideally your usual GP) can carry out the examination instead but it’s always best to check what’s accepted before proceeding.
At Immigration Express Christchurch, we are an approved panel physician clinic, providing both General Medicals and Chest X-rays in one place. Book an appointment with us to ensure your visa process goes smoothly.
